CURT Program

What is CURT?
The Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT) is a state-operated registry that supports the Texas Compassionate Use Program (CUP), which allows for the legal prescription of low-THC cannabis to patients with
certain qualifying medical conditions. Established in 2015 under the Texas Compassionate Use Act, the program initially provided access to low-THC cannabis for patients with epilepsy. Since then, it has expanded to include a range of conditions:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Spasticity
- PTSD
- Seizures
- ALS
- Cancer
- Incurable neurodegenerative disease
- Autism
How does it work?
CURT serves as a database for qualified physicians to record patient prescriptions and dosage details. The system also allows law enforcement and licensed dispensaries to verify eligible patients, while preventing multiple registrations for the same patient. Patients in Texas must be prescribed by a physician registered with the CURT, and only those residing in Texas can
participate in the program.
